As a buyer do not always jump at the chance to buy that larger home just because it is a good deal. Remember these important considerations:
- You have to pay property taxes on the home. Even if you get it for a low price the tax-assessed value may be higher and you would have to protest them.
- Larger homes tend to have larger yards and more landscaping. You either have to pay someone to do it incurring additional cost or do it yourself trading your time for money.
- Similarly, you have to take care of the inside of the home as well. This includes painting walls, cleaning carperts, washing windows, cleaning counters, etc.
- Larger homes cost more to be insured.
Make sure whatever home you not only fits your budget but your lifestyle as well.
