The Houston area, in general, has a lot to offer its residents and visitors. The closer you get to the coastline the more options there are. This is particularly true for the Clear Lake area. Its close proximity to Houston and Galveston makes the Clear Lake area one of the greatest places to live in Texas. From taking in a game at Reliant Stadium or Minute Maid Park in Houston to listening to the sound of crashing waves and seagulls on the beaches of Galveston, there’s surely something for everyone. Even if you never left the Clear Lake area, you will find plenty to keep you entertained. Here are just a few things to consider whether you’re a resident or a visitor:
If you enjoy getting out of the house once in a while, Clear Lake Park has enough amenities to satisfy the outdoorsman in you in between your great adventures. The 59 acre park, located in Seabrook, offers a boat launch, fishing pier, pavilions for hosting events, soccer field, tennis court and baseball field. There’s also a huge playground and a jogging trail. If you’re a history buff you can even visit the ancient Indian burial ground there.

The Bay Area Museum in Seabrook, housed in the restored Webster Presbyterian Church building, is home to memorabilia reminiscent of the area as well as the Japanese collection of the Saibara family, relics of the Karankawa Indians, and paraphernalia from the Lunar Rendezvous Festival. The museum also provides a beautiful setting for weddings, receptions and special events.
