Now that your home is ready to show don’t sit back and relax just yet. Living in a home that is on the market for sale is not the same as everyday living. Have you ever heard the expression, “If you stay ready, you won’t have to get ready”? You will want to make sure your home is always ready to receive agents and their buyers whether you’re home or away. Here’s a checklist you can use to make sure your home is always “Dressed to Sell!”
On a daily (regular) basis make sure:
Pick up and put away unnecessary items (i.e. books, toys, clothing) throughout the house.
Keep carpet and floors clean; sweep and vacuum as needed.
Clean and put away all dishes. Wipe down countertops and appliances.
Wipe all faucets and fixtures clean in the kitchen and bathrooms
Dust blinds and/or keep window coverings clean.
Make beds daily and make sure they all have a comforter/bed spread.
Empty all trash cans.
PLEASE, keep toilet lids closed.
Leave garage and closets clear of clutter
Always make sure the front walk-way is clear of dirt, debris, leaves, etc.
Maintain lawn and landscaping on a regular basis.
Leave on certain lights during the day. During showings turn on ALL lights and lamps.
Play light FM music every day in the house, for all showings.
Use Plug-ins or other scent enhancers throughout the home.
Following these guidelines will help ensure that your home is always “Dressed to Sell” and ready to make a great first impression. For more specific and detailed information on presenting a show-ready home call me. As a Certified Home Marketing Specialist I can successfully manage staging as an integral part of your property’s marketing plan. In a seller’s market, staging can sell a house on the first day it’s listed. In a buyer’s market, it can sell a house in a matter of days – not months. Staging is an absolute must, for every house, in every price range, in every market. I can help get the job done whether in the League City, Friendswood, Pearland, Seabrook, or anywhere in the Clear Lake area.
