Keeping Cool in Clear Lake and Beyond – Part 1

0
June 30, 2013 - Local Area, Parks and Recreation, Quality of Life

Newsflash! It’s HOT in the Clear Lake/Houston area. But, you probably knew that. Over the weekend temperatures reached triple digits. While finding a place to relax inside is always nice, the family can tend to get a little restless. If you want to get out of the house, but keep cool, here are a few places to check out in the Clear Lake, Greater Houston and surrounding areas.

Boardwalk Beast in Kemah – Take a high-speed, fun-filled, wet ride four miles into the Galveston Bay. Wind, water, and WILD is what you can expect on this thrilling ride.

Fantasea Yacht Cruise – Slow things down a bit with a dinner cruise on Clear Lake’s premier luxury yacht. Add a little spark with a Friday Night Firework Cruise, with dinner, dancing and breathtaking fireworks display over Galveston Bay.

Galveston – Head to the beach! You’ll find miles of beachfront fun on Galveston Island. There’s something for everyone. For white sand and palm trees with all the fun of a waterpark, check out Palm Beach at Moody Gardens.

Pirate’s Bay – Take a short drive to cool off at the colorful Caribbean-themed waterpark in Baytown. Giant waterslides and exciting water rides provide hours of cool family fun.

Lake Conroe – Did somebody say “road trip”? Don’t forget about Lake Conroe. Fishing, boating, water sports and many other activities to help give you a cool break from the Texas heat.

Lone Star Yogi – Camping anyone? Load up the RV and make it a weekend of camping. Or, check out one of the many cabins at Camp Jellystone’s Lone Star Yogi in Waller, TX. Traditional camping combined with an awesome splashpark, waterslide and other cool activities equal loads of summer fun.

There are many “cool” attractions in and around Clear Lake to help you escape the heat. But, if you want to keep it closer to home let me help you discover some of the area’s best kept secrets hidden in Master Planned communities. You can enjoy fun in the sun right in your own backyard, as many Master Planned communities have waterparks that rival many of the area’s commercial parks.

If you want to experience your own “getaway” at home, give me a call. I can help you find the right home in the Clear Lake City, League City, Friendswood, Pearland, Seabrook, Kemah, Dickinson and Houston Bay areas.
