\u200bWhen you’re out looking for a home, it’s helpful when the seller has had the home staged or still lives in the home so that you get an idea of how your furniture will fit in the space. However, sometimes the home you really love may be vacant. Or, after you’ve purchase your dream home and moved in you may need a little help with decorating and getting your creative juices flowing. Well, if you’re a smart phone user you know there’s an app for just about everything. Home decorating? Yep, there’s an app for that. Actually there are several apps for that. Here are a few that you might find useful while searching for a home or decorating a home you already own. Need some ideas for choosing the right colors? Check out Palettes (Apple devices) or Real Colors (Android). Create a color scheme from a photo or website to get just the right color for your vision. How big was that room again? Snap a photo and document the measurements with Photo Measure Lite. No need to keep up with scraps of paper or trying to remember the dimensions of a room. Is the room tilted? No, that picture isn’t straight. Use iHandy Level to help you hang pictures, measure angles, or any other home decorating task that requires the use of a level. Wondering how that new sofa would look over there? SnapShop is a neat app that allows virtual furniture placement in an empty room. Simply snap a picture of the room, browse a huge furniture catalog, and place furniture in the room. The catalog includes furniture from IKEA, Crate & Barrel, Pier 1 and more. You can even buy furniture using the app. The ultimate do-it-yourself app. Handy Man DIY is a handy (pun intended) little app packed with home improvement ideas and tools to help you with your DIY projects. It includes videos, instructions, and materials lists to help you bring your ideas to life. Need ideas for decorating specific rooms in your home? Houzz has an interactive iPad app with lots of home decorating and design ideas. You’ll find ideas for every room and every style. Many of these apps are available for both Apple and Android devices. You may find that there are many more available to meet your needs. If you are looking for a home to decorate, I would love to help you with your home search in the Clear Lake City, League City, Friendswood, Pearland, Seabrook, Kemah, Dickinson or the entire Houston Bay areas.
